How to talk about marine biodiversity with children?

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS FOR TALKING TO CHILDREN ABOUT MARINE BIODIVERSITY

WOULD YOU LIKE TO RAISE AWARENESS AND EDUCATE CHILDREN ABOUT OCEANS AND MARINE LIFE? YOUTH CONSERVATION MAKES IT EASY! TAKE A LOOK!

The Youth Conservation platform offers an in-depth exploration of the theme of “Marine biodiversity”. On their own or as a class, children can take the course 2 entitled “Marine biodiversity – Discover, understand and take action to preserve exceptional marine biodiversity“. This module is entirely devoted to discovering and understanding the major mechanisms that make up the beauty of the marine eco-system. It also suggests practical ways of taking action to preserve it. There are also additional educational resources available to help you learn more about the subject. These resources are available in the “Resources” tab on the site and can be downloaded free of charge.

Here is an outline of how you can approach the theme of marine biodiversity:

PART 1: DISCOVER THE RICHES OF THE SEABED

You can start by explaining how the seas and oceans work and why and how they are absolutely essential to our survival. The ocean is the lungs of the planet, supplying 2/3 of the oxygen we breathe!

PART 2: UNDERSTANDING THE THREATS TO MARINE BIODIVERSITY

Next, you can look at the threats to this exceptional biodiversity. You ask questions to get the children thinking and expressing their concerns. Why is the sea becoming increasingly polluted, and why are fish and seaweed disappearing? Human activity is often to blame…

Part 3: TAKING ACTION TO PRESERVE THE EXCEPTIONAL DIVERSITY OF THE UNDERWATER WORLD

Now that you have seen and explained the various threats to the seas and oceans, you can work together to find solutions that children and governments can use to preserve the second lung of our magnificent blue planet!

How about diving into the aquatic world together?

So open your eyes and ears, marine biodiversity awaits you here.
