How to talk about climate change with children?

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS FOR TALKING TO CHILDREN ABOUT climate change

WOULD YOU LIKE TO RAISE AWARENESS AND EDUCATE CHILDREN ABOUT global warming? YOUTH CONSERVATION MAKES IT EASY! TAKE A LOOK!

The Youth Conservation platform offers an in-depth exploration of the theme of “climate change”. Children can work alone or in class on course 3 entitled “Climate change – How to limit the harmful consequences for people and the environment?”. This course is entirely devoted to discovering and understanding this complex phenomenon. The lesson explores in detail the causes and consequences of global warming. It also suggests practical ways of taking action to limit global warming. There are also additional educational resources available to help you learn more about the subject. These resources are available in the “Resources” section of the site and can be downloaded free of charge.

Here is an outline of how you can approach the subject of climate change:

Part 1: DISCOVERing THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF CLIMATE CHANGE

As the years go by, the global temperature of our beautiful planet increases…

Together with the children, discover the causes and consequences of climate change and, above all, how to fight to put the brakes on this incredible rise!

Part 2: UNDERSTANDING THE CONSEQUENCES OF GLOBAL WARMING

In the 2nd phase, you can delve into the very real consequences of rising temperatures for the planet and humanity. There are many such consequences around the world, and no living creature has been spared: acidification of the oceans, loss of biodiversity, rising sea levels, etc. These are all complex but important phenomena to understand, so that together we can find solutions and take action before it’s too late!

Part 3: Acting to fight global warming

As we all know, we need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, particularly CO2. That’s why all the countries in the world have committed to trying to limit the amount of gas we produce.

Each of us can do something, at our own level: pupils, parents, teachers, businesses, farmers, governments…

By changing the way we live and consume, there are a multitude of small actions we can take to combat global warming. And by making an effort every day, we can even save a lot of money!

You can discuss all this with your children using module 3 here.
