Launch of the Program “Eco-Citizenship in Schools: For a Healthy Brain in a Healthy Environment” (Chad)

How to integrate environnemental education within the educational system?

Read the inspiring testimony of our volunteer mentor in chad, Mr. Oliver BERE:

We are excited to announce the launch of our eco-citizenship program in schools, titled “For a Healthy Brain in a Healthy Environment.” This program aims to integrate environmental education at the heart of our educational system, in order to train a generation of engaged and responsible citizens.Eco-citizenship is essential for understanding the ecological challenges we face today and for developing sustainable solutions. By teaching students from a young age to respect and protect our environment, we hope to create a greener and healthier future for all.Through this program, we envision several key objectives:

  1. Raising Awareness of Environmental Issues: We want to awaken students to current environmental issues, such as climate change, air and water pollution, and biodiversity loss. This awareness is crucial for encouraging collective consciousness.
  2. Promoting Ecological Behaviors: We aim to encourage the development of eco-friendly behaviors, such as recycling, reducing waste, and using renewable resources. These habits will help instill a culture of eco-citizenship from an early age.
  3. Engagement in Concrete Projects: Involving students and the school community in concrete environmental projects, such as cleanup days or waste collection and sorting, is at the heart of our approach. This will allow them to take action and see the direct impact of their efforts on their environment.

By integrating these elements into our program, we aim not only to contribute to a healthy environment but also to improve the overall well-being of students. A healthy learning environment reduces stress and promotes better concentration, leading to increased academic performance. Furthermore, by acquiring valuable skills in resource management and social responsibility, our students will become agents of change, ready to tackle global environmental challenges. In summary, through environmental education, we are taking another step toward a sustainable and thriving future with enthusiasm and determination. We firmly believe that every student has the potential to be an active and engaged eco-citizen capable of positively influencing their surroundings and the planet. We invite everyone to support this ambitious program that will shape tomorrow’s ecological leaders!
