Environmental Education and Capacity Building of Local Communities

Discover the inspiring testimony of Ir. Arubu Kangale Trésor, coordinator of the NGO

Save Forest is an NGO based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), dedicated to protecting biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices. Through environmental education, the organization empowers local communities to participate in the preservation of wildlife and forests.

One of Save Forest’s key projects focuses on restoring degraded forest landscapes and promoting agroforestry. By providing environmental education and practical skills training, the NGO strengthens the capacity of local actors to manage forest restoration effectively. This initiative also engages children in hands-on learning through nursery establishment, emphasizing the importance of preserving the environment for future generations.

The organization has set up a community nursery with 10,000 seedlings, including both fast-growing species and native varieties, contributing to the restoration of 150 hectares of forest. The project not only restores ecosystems but also incorporates environmental education to ensure long-term sustainability and community involvement.
