DISCOVER THE INSPIRING TESTIMONY OF OUR VOLUNTEER MENTOR IN TOGO, KOKOUVI TONA ADANDOGOU
Environmental education and reforestation
Our volunteer mentor in Togo, Kokouvi Tona ADANDOGOU, is very active and committed on the ground to work for environmental preservation. He is an active member of the NGO COJD, with which he has carried out various activities in recent months.
Reforestation Activity on the Sidelines of World Environment Day 2024:
“On June 1, 2024, Tree Day, we carried out a reforestation activity, plant maintenance, and awareness-raising. This activity took place at the site of the COJD NGO’s youth promotion information and communication center construction project in Lomé, Togo. Through Youth Conservation tools, participants, young people, and association leaders were informed about the usefulness of reforestation and sensitized to the need to preserve the environment. The activity gathered many participants, and the local press, invited for the occasion, widely covered the event.”
Environmental Education for Young People:
“On July 27, 2024, more than 200 children and young people in Kévé, about 40 km from Lomé, were sensitized. The theme was ‘Environmental Education for Young People and Children.’ There was a presentation on the concept of the environment, its components, and their importance. Then, there was a workshop in small groups to better understand the actions to be taken to act for the preservation of the elements that make up our environment. At the end, the participants put into practice the lessons learned through a reforestation activity. The participants left happy and transformed! Let’s all work together for the planet; every action counts!”
Kudos to him, all the volunteers of the COJD NGO in Togo, and all the participants!
