Environmental education in Djamdè Park (Togo)

DISCOVER THE INSPIRING TESTIMONY OF OUR VOLUNTEER MENTOR IN TOGO, FRANCK MICHOZOUNOU:

THE NECESSITY OF EDUCATING CHILDREN ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION:

Our volunteer mentor in Togo, Franck Michozounou, tirelessly works from Djamdè Park in Togo to raise children’s awareness about the fragility of biodiversity and the necessity to protect it. He regularly welcomes groups of students to the park and educates them about the threats to the environment and the actions needed to preserve it. Here is the account of his latest activity:

“On June 27, Djamdè Park in Togo hosted 30 students and 10 supervisors from the Chezouwe Children’s Development Center (CDE) in Boufale, Togo. We held an environmental education session with all the students on the theme ‘Discovering Wildlife.’ Then, the students enjoyed a guided tour with the elephants of Djamdè Park to solidify the lessons learned. Youth Conservation resources allowed us to discuss the threats of anthropogenic activities (activities related to human activity) on biodiversity and the solution approaches.”
